Wow. What a great book. Johnson does a great job humanizing a place most of us know very little about. The difficulties and horrors or everyday existence in an insane land are laid bare in an engrossing narrative that is touching, darkly funny, and at times shocking. An excellent story about what some people will do to protect their humanity in a merciless and brutal world.
