I love how this book follows different generations of the same families and has a full circle ending. Lots of the details you might miss on the first read are referenced later, and it's very satisfying to re-read. Mostly, the book is about immigrants to Britain, consequences, love, family, and how people grow or never change. It is very satisfying to read cover to cover!
